Augusta Scheiber made numerous recordings throughout her life. Most were studio recordings she made to document programs she had recently performed. She also made several live recordings of concerts, and a number of her live radio performances were also recorded. Her recordings were made on vinyl and metal records, and later on reel-to-reel tape.

Her first known recording dates from 1935, and the last is from 1986. The 1935 recording captures her live radio performance of Beethoven's Emperor Piano Concerto (Opus 73, No. 5). The final recording documents her interpretation of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (Opus 27, No. 2) and Schumann's Romance (Opus 28, No. 2), which she played at the memorial service for her husband Ben (1890-1986). The repertoire covered by the recordings includes Bach, Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, Scarlatti, Schubert, Schumann and Vivaldi.

We are in the process of making digital transfers of Scheiber's recordings. Please visit again, or contact us to hear about recordings as they become available.
